The Elixir of Love is Gaetano Donizetti's enduring, joyous and ever popular comic opera, with a score filled with melody from the beginning to its joyously happy ending. Featuring some of the most meltingly beautiful and sparkling vocal music ever written, the production delights audiences with memorable arias, duets, trios, and rousing ensembles. This charming and endearing story follows the kindhearted, honest and lovesick youth Nemorino, who is hopelessly in love with the capricious, feisty and wealthy Adina. As he goes to great lengths in his attempts to win her love, the other characters complicate his honest pursuits with their own vested interests. With a stellar cast alongside the Rockdale Opera Company Chorus, this production brought together glorious music, enchanting performances, and an unforgettable comic story.
