The gothic Scottish tale followed the emotionally fragile Lucia—portrayed by soprano Camilla Wright—who is tragically manipulated by her brother into a forced marriage while in love with her family's sworn enemy. Pushed to the breaking point by deception, the production culminated in the opera’s famous mad scene, where a devastated Lucia descends into insanity.
